He was predeceased by : his parents, Samuel W. Ruble, Sr. and Margaret K. DeHaven Ruble. He is survived by : his wife Ann Price Ruble; his siblings, Samuel W. Ruble, Jr. of Castleton and Irene K. Heishman of Clinton; and his children, Joy Renee Campbell (Jeff) of Hedgesville, Tammy R. Hylton (Tom) of Martinsburg, Alan W. Ruble (Paige) of Martinsburg and Amy R. DeRamus (Greg) of Lynchburg, Virginia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four stepchildren, nine step-grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren.

“What I remember most about Howard was his big easy smile when greeting me with his hearty "howdy partner". Around 1965 he took me on one of my first rabbit hunts, where I managed to miss the one bunny we jumped. His animated reaction when we learned that I had no shell in the chamber, was memorable. Howard had endless hunting stories to share, which I enjoyed. I know he'll be missed by many, and I extend my sincere sympathy to his family and friends.”
