He was predeceased by: his parents, Opal Laing (Bohrer) and Ralph "Bud" Laing; his godparents, Bernard and Leah Murphy; his brother Dennis Laing; and his son Joseph Michael Laing.
He is survived by: his close friend Regina Yowell; his daughters, Chrissy Shipley (Lyle) and Stephanie Laing; his grandsons, Brandon Keiter and Joseph Miller; and his siblings, Debbie Riner (David), Alisa Cushwa (Jeff Durham), Larry Laing and Randy Laing.
