He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Stirling Spaid and Mary Marguerite Orndorff Spaid; and his brothers, William Spaid and Ralph Spaid. He is survived by: his children, Samuel S. Spaid of Yellow Spring, WV and Julie A. LaFollette of High View, WV; his grandchildren, Samantha Spaid, Tyler LaFollette and Garrett LaFollette; and his nieces and nephews, Chris Spaid, Mary Beth Spaid and Ann Lepley.
