With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Lee Puffenbarger of Hillsboro, West Virginia, born in Elkins, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 24, 2025 at the age of 53. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Estil Bryant Garretson, Clara Mae Mitchem Garretson, Elsie and Billy Edgar Puffenbarger. He is survived by: his parents, Nancy Garretson Puffenbarger and Billy Puffenbarger; his friend Tashy-Tash Mason (Morgan) of Hillsboro; his nieces, Addison Hamrick and Aurora Mason; and his aunts and uncles, Jimmy Garretson, Susie of Rio Grand, OH, Maggie, Arlie Morgan of Arbovale and Rosella Garretson of Stafford, VA..

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lantz Funeral Home - Buckeye (16792 Seneca Trail, Buckeye, WV 24924). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that you honor David by doing something simple and kind for someone else just as he did, without fanfare, everyday or make a contribution to your favorite charity.
