He is survived by: his mother Lois Bolen Wheeler of Blue Jay; his wife Anna Boone Wheeler; his stepdaughters, Penny Crawford Wheeler and Robin Richmond; his stepgrandchildren, Darren Forren, Alexis Wickline (Johnny) and James Fleshman; his siblings, Joe Wheeler (Vickie), Lorie Adkins (Michael), Lucille Shuck and Wanda Adkins (Vincent); and his great grandchildren, Serenity Rain Forren, Joel Isaac Wheeler and Ethan Richmond. He is also survived by sixteen step great grandchildren and six step great great grandchildren.
