He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence E. Lovejoy and Nannie Lovejoy; and his siblings, Wayne, Ed Lovejoy, Evelyn Garnes and Loretta Gillispie.

He is survived by : his wife Nora Faye Hackett Lovejoy; his children, Tandy Boggess (David) and Charles Lovejoy, Jr. (Nicole); his grandchildren, Colt Boggess, Michael Boggess, Jesse Lovejoy and Jordan Lovejoy; his great grandchildren, Evan Boggess and Gracie Boggess; and his siblings, Irene Roden, Lorene Qualls and Thurmon Lovejoy.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cooke Funeral Home and Crematorium - Nitro (2002 20th St, Nitro, WV 25143). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
