He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Otto Phillips and Fannie Leota Norris Phillips; his wife Sherlene Phillips; and his siblings, Florine Huggins, Loretta Phillips, Lorene Perkins, Madeline Miller, Robert Phillips, William "Dick" Phillips, Edmond Phillips, Imogene McCoy, Maxine Williams, Wilbert Phillips and Philemon Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Doug (Julie Phillips) of Wileyville, Scott (Susan Phillips) of New Martinsville and Marla (John Crews) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his half-brother Joseph Phillips of Parkersburg; and his grandchildren, Saul Phillips, Tyler Phillips, Maggie Phillips, Alyssa Phillips, Natalie Christen, Zack Phillips and Megan Hines. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Tennant Funeral Home (2678 Hornet Hwy, Hundred, WV 26575). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
