He was predeceased by : his mother Anna Mae Hatten; his former wife Gloria Stevenson Hatten; his siblings, Connie Ryan and Harry Spangler; and his granddaughter Sofia Creed Hatten.

He is survived by : his wife Dorothy Hatten; his sons, Sean Hatten (Jenny) and Larry Smith; his step-daughter Becky Ross (Will); his sister Bonita Webb (Mitch); and his grandchildren, Katy Burns, April Legg, Elliot Ross, Gage Ross and Amanda Langdon.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 26th 2022 at 12:00 PM at the Rollins Funeral Home (1822 Chestnut St, Kenova, WV 25530). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 26th 2022 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
