It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Selden Spessard McNeer Jr. (Huntington, West Virginia), who passed away on October 16, 2025, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Selden Spessard McNeer and Jean Gregory McNeer; his siblings, Jean McNeer McCurry and Richard Gregory McNeer; his son Selden Spessard McNeer, III; and his wife Julienne Jo Shinn McNeer.
He is survived by: his children, Gregory Alexander McNeer and Julienne Jo McNeer Burns (James William Burns); his grandchildren, Josephine, Chanson, Roberta and William; his daughter Susannah McNeer Laney (Robb); and his great grandchildren, Abigail and Jac.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Trinity Episcopal Church (520 11th St, Huntington, WV 25701). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Trinity Episcopal Church at 520 11th Street, Huntington WV, 25701 or to the C-K Alumni Band at P.O. Box 392, Kenova, WV, 25530.
