With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donnie Nelson of Hurricane, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 9, 2026 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Nelson and Martha Nelson; and his brothers, Lloyd Nelson (Sandy) and Steven Nelson (Karen). He is survived by: his wife Janet L Nelson; his brothers, Kelly Gene Nelson of Hurricane, WV, Paul Nelson (Debbie) of Crystal River, FL and Ronnie Nelson (Tami) of St. Augustine, FL.; his siblings-in-law, Susan Hunsinger (Dave) of Tallahassee, FL, Pat Kilburn (Bob) of New Johnsonville, TN, Butch Mesick of Keystone Heights, FL and Paul Mesick of Arden, NC; and his granddaughters, Jayme Green of Huntington, WV and Abby Tucker of Buffalo, WV.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kanawha Hospice.
