He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank W. Painter and Florence G. Hilborn Painter; his former wife Patricia A. Daniels; his stepmother Lorena A. Hilborn Painter; his siblings, Frank W. Painter Jr. and Aileen R. Painter Burner; and his grandson Michael J. McCartney.
He is survived by: his wife Debra C. Epperly Painter; his daughter Kimberly K. Painter Chamberlain; his granddaughter Misty N. Chamberlain; and his great grandchild Brooklyn K. Chamberlain. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
