He was predeceased by: his parents, Dolby Carte and Myrtle Donahue Carte Davis; his stepfather John Davis; his siblings, Dale Carte, Beatrice "Bick" Carte Butler, John Kenneth Carte and Virginia "Nan" Carte; and his stepson Mark Darrin Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Jean Alford Carte; his children, Michael Carte and Arlene Carte; his caregiver Scott Cook; his grandchildren, Michaella, Abby, Austin and Audrey; and his stepgrandchildren, Tyler and Tiffany. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (2837 Main St, Hurricane, WV 25526). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at the Valley View Memorial Park (2466 Main St, Hurricane, WV 25526).
