With heavy hearts, we announce the death of JoAnn Cosco of Hurricane, West Virginia, who passed away on December 13, 2025 at the age of 81. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of JoAnn Cosco to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nick Chickrell and Mary Chickrell (Besedich) of Farmington, WV.; and her in-laws, Sam, Della Cosco, Alan and Mary Keeney.
She is survived by: her husband John Carl Cosco; her sons, Scott Cosco (Kathy) of Hurricane, WV and Jason Cosco (Stephanie) of Albany, NY; her brother Tom Chickrell (Mary Jo) of Farmington; and her grandchildren, Sadie of Huntington, WV and Dominick Cosco of Huntington, WV. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and god-children.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Laura R. Smith Memorial Endowed Scholarship, which supports East Fairmont High School Busy Bee Band graduates who plan to minor in musical arts at Fairmont State University.
