Martha Cooper Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Cooper of Hurricane, West Virginia, who passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Dave Cooper; her son James Mitchell; her parents, Ralph Martin and Zella Martin; her brothers, Stephen Martin and Lewis Webb; and her nephew Eric Roberts.

She is survived by: her son Matthew Cooper (Megan); her grandchildren, Levi, Zella, Kinlee, Luke, Joslyn, MacKenzie Tibbs (Kris) and Lindsay Mitchell; her sisters, Diana Morrison (Bill) and Tammy Roberts (Marc); her nieces, Catherine Molden Elizabeth Hurst (Michael) and Emiley Pauley (Jimmy); and her friends, Stormy, Charlotte Stalnaker, John, Cathy Ford, Mike and Pat Price. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

The Chamber of Commerce of Spencer named Martha Citizen of the Year for her outstanding contributions to the community's civic and business life.
