It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Virginia McCoy of Hurricane, West Virginia, born in Madison, West Virginia, who passed away on March 5, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband James A. McCoy; her parents, Robert Atkins and Catherine Atkins; and her siblings, Betty Frazier, Roberta Workman, Catherine Barnhart, Richard Atkins and Robert Atkins.

She is survived by : her children, Nancy Kalen of Richmond, VA., Julie Stowers (Mario) of Dunbar, WV and James McCoy Jr. of Hamlin, WV; her grandchildren, Mathew Kalen (Thu), Nicholas Kalen (Crystal) and Emma Stowers; and her great grandchildren, Bianca Kalen and Siena Kalen. She is also survived by her family and friends.
