With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Gillespie of Hurricane, West Virginia, born in Charleston, West Virginia, who passed away on April 17, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Edgar Dumont and Virginia Nell Dumont (Jarvis); her husband Kellis Marion Gillespie; her grandparents, Camille Victor, Marie Dumont (Gillot), John Wesley and Ora Alice Jarivis (Surface); and her siblings, Edgar Alfred, John Wesley, Robert Lee Dumont, Mary Jean French and Alice June Floyd Bishop.

She is survived by : her daughters, Kathryn Ann (Zack Phillips) of Roanoke and Bonnie Jean (Marc Rider) of Ona; her grandchildren, Jason Johnson (Janet) of Bowie, Jeremiah Johnson of Beckley, Justin Johnson (Jennifer) of Roanoke, Johnnie Comer of Hurricane, Mickey Sovine of Ona and Mindy Wooten of Hurricane; and her great grandchildren, Emma, Lily, Mara, Jude Johnson of Bowie, Camden Johnson of Beckley, Jackson, Joshua, Jordyn Johnson of Roanoke, Jack, Adin Comer and Wyatt Wooten of Ona.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Allen Funeral Home (2837 Main St, Hurricane, WV 25526). A burial was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Cunningham Memorial Park (815 Cunningham Ln, St Albans, WV 25177).

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hurricane, 2635 Main Street, Hurricane, WV 25526.
