He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Bird and Velma Leadmon Bird; and his brothers, Herman Bird and Wayne Bird. He is survived by: his wife Freda Bird (White); his children, Greg Bird (Beth) of Hurricane and April Massey (Josh) of Hurricane; his grandchildren, Emily Clutters (Nic) of Hurricane, Amanda Bird (JT Vedral) of Hurricane, Madison Massey of Hurricane and Mason Massey of Hurricane; and his great grandchildren, Harrison of Hurricane and Evie Clutters of Hurricane. He is also survived by nieces and nephews as well as other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home (3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
