He was predeceased by : his parents, Lawson Bailey and Belva Bailey; his wife Ellen Bailey; his daughter Melody; and his siblings, Nathan, Lonnie, Madeline, Sylvia and Elleen.

He is survived by : his children, Ricky Bailey of Itmann, WV and Sheila Bailey of Princeton, WV; his brothers, Larry Bailey (Bonnie) of Crumpler, WV and Carl Bailey (Wilma) of Fredericksburg, VA; and his brothers-in-law, Roger Rose (Willie) of Dandridge, TN and Dennis Rose (Becky) of Jackson, MI. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home (3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
