The family announces the passing of Arley Edward Proctor of Kenna, West Virginia on August 22, 2026. Arley, born on December 27, 1936 in Charleston, West Virginia, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arley Shaffer and Lucille Shaffer; his wife Rosetta Proctor (Weikle); and his siblings, Norma, Alice, Ray, Gene, Kenneth and Garland.
He is survived by: his sons, David Proctor (Louise), Timmy Proctor (Laura) and Gary Proctor (Bonnie); his grandchildren, David Paul Proctor Jr., Brandi Proctor and Leslie Proctor; his stepgrandson Tim Johnson; and his brother Arlie Procter (Tim Johnson). He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Waybright Funeral Home (511 S Church St, Ripley, WV 25271). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Christian Fellowship Church (1076 Kentuck Rd, Kenna, WV 25248). A burial was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at 6839 Sissonville Dr, Charleston, WV 25320.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in honor of Arley to the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.
