He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar Taylor and Marie Maynard Robinson; his sons, Gary L. Robinson, II and David Wayne Robinson; and his brother Lester G. Robinson.

He is survived by : his siblings, Flora Mae and Larry Glenn Robinson (Kelly); his sister-in-law Mae Robinson; his grandsons, Kaleb and Chandler Robinson; his great grandchildren, Jayden Robinson and Hunter Pinson; his nieces, Megan Robinson and Jessica McCormick; his uncle Dallas; and his aunt Janet Maynard.
