He is survived by: his wife Carol Belton Messer; his daughter Maggie Messer of Kermit, WV; his sister-in-law Ruthie Martin (Jim); his nieces and nephews, Freddy Messer Jr. and Kim Maynard (Terry); and his cousins, Patty Newsome, Marsha Newsome, Violet Dillon, Ralph Muncy, Carter Muncy, Basil Jr. Muncy and Linda Martin.
