It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michael Joseph Leighton of Keyser, West Virginia, who passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 44, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Joe, Jane Leighton, Andy and Betty Landis. He is survived by: his parents, Lisle Christopher Leighton of Buckhannon, WV and Donna Leighton (Landis) of Virginia Beach, VA.; his siblings, Brianne R. Leighton of Virginia Beach and Andrew Scott Leighton (Channa); his nieces and nephews, Kenlee, Charleann and Michael "Bubs" of Orange Beach, Alabama; his uncle Joe Leighton; and his aunts, Faye Buehrer and Mary Leighton.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home ~ Keyser Chapel (85 S Main St, Keyser, WV 26726). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Avenue, Suite 1100 Bethesda, MD 20814, a cause close to Mike's heart.
