He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Osler Friend Pifer; his brother Dr. Robert G. (Barbara Pifer); his stepson Christopher J. Friend (Carla J. Friend); his grandson Cayden J. Friend; his mother-in-law Sara Barbara "Sally" Osler; his siblings-in-law, Cindy (Rick King), Amy (John Clinton), Doug (Sami Osler) and Bryon Osler; his niece Laura Rider (Steve); and his friend Nathaniel Edward Taylor, II.
In 2025, Randy entered Dawnview Nursing Facility, Fort Ashby, WV due to advanced Alzheimer's disease.
