He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas V. Ely, Sr. and Lillian G. Ely (Holsinger); his sister Sherry Bosley; and his father-in-law Tom Whiteman. He is survived by: his children, William V. Ely of Keyser and Kristin Keplinger (Todd) of Morgantown, WV; his grandchildren, Caitlin Ely of Moorefield, WV, Haley and Carter Keplinger of Morgantown; his mother-in-law Barbara Whiteman of Keyser; and his brothers-in-law, Steve Whiteman (Michelle) of Petersburg, WV, Scott Whiteman (Cindy) of Rawlings, MD and Barry Whiteman (Tracy) of Keyser. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
