She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Sr.; her parents, James Timmons and Barbara Timmons; and her siblings, Margaret Keel, Sanders Rollins, Silas Rollins, Julia Carter Hill, Sue Carter, Barbara Timmons and Edith Staunton.
She is survived by: her sons, Joseph Groom (Stephanie) of Kimberly, WV and James Groom (Karen) of Montgomery, WV.; her grandchildren, Alita Lightfoot, Cianna Groom, Whitney Groom, Tiffany Groom, Kenneth Groom, Jr., Dante Groom, Roger Mitchell, Jr., Lamar Mitchell, Annette Mitchell, Brian Brockman, George Brockman, Jr., Jonathan Brockman, Jeremy McMillian, Tanesha Satchell, Patrick Satchell, Felicia Groom and Kayla Groom; her adoptive daughters, Anita Groom and Bonita Johnson; Larry Smith. She is also survived by 8 children without a father, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
