She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Holland and Clara Holland; her husband Bruce Mathews; her siblings, Bertha Holland, Bessie Carrington, Ina Holland, Albert Holland and James Holland; and her niece Lola Hoskins.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Holland (Tonie Ann), Harold Holland (Linda), Leonard Mathews (Barbara), Cecelia Mathews, Joyce Stewart, Brenda Betts, Jeffery Mathews (Janice), Rodney Mathews and Yvette Pannell (Malcolm); her sisters, Martha (Ralph) of Washington and Lue Anna Totten (Dillard); her sister-in-law Geraldine Mathews; and her close friend Rosa Lee Reese. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
