He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel "Sam" Barnes McKeen and Mary Elizabeth McKeen (Martin); his son Timothy Frederick McKeen; and his sister Nancy McIntyre. He is survived by: his wife Julie Lee McKeen (Goff); his children, Jerry McKeen of Des Moines, IA, Colin McKeen (Kelly) of Corpus Christi, TX, Marianne Hawkins (Donny) of Stonewood, WV and Martin McKeen of Charleston, WV; and his grandson Sam. He is also survived by cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
