With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sammy Earl Duncan (Layland, West Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 26, 2025 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Quinton Duncan and Virginia Evelyn Ewing; his wife Margaret Duncan; his daughter Cassandra Harrison; and his sister Vicki Curtis.
He is survived by: his children, Becky Blair (Danny McMullin) of Layland, Samuel Duncan of Hilldale, Savannah Duncan of Pipestem, Angela Duncan of Pipestem and Belinda Weidensall (Jason Kaylor) of Beckley; his grandchildren, Gabriel Kaylor of Beckley, Arianna Kaylor of Beckley, Arron Weidensall of Beckley, Jessica Duncan, Kasey Minor of Beckley, Tyler Forren of Oak Hill and Montana Gardner of Rupert; his great grandchildren, Grayson, Sammy and River of Rupert; and his former wife Sarah Swaggerty of Pipestem.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chestnut Knob Baptist Church (1745 Chestnut Knob Rd, Layland, WV 25864). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, family request that donations be made to the funeral home to defray expense.
