It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gladys Carper of Left Hand, West Virginia, who passed away on April 7, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Nathan Elliott and Mary Ethel Dye Smith; her husband Ross V. Carper; her son Douglas Richard Carper; her daughter-in-law Carolyn Sue Mullins Carper; and her siblings, Ralph Smith, Ray Smith, Harold Smith, Kenneth Smith, William "Bill" Smith (Richard Smith), Marie Smith Cicora and Garnet Smith Ledsome Johnson.

She is survived by : her children, Michael Ross Carper, Judy Roupe of Widen, W. Va, Jeffrey Alan Carper (Debbie) of Spencer, Sharon Kay Carper, Art Lilly of Parkersburg and Timothy William Carper (Penny) of Hurricane; her daughter-in-law Cathy Truman Carper Beall of Parkersburg; and her close friend Miranda Burbank of Spencer. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home (406 Market St, Spencer, WV 25276). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
