He was predeceased by: his parents, Carrie Mable Gibson Miller and James Samuel Miller of Charleston, WV.; and his brothers, James Samuel Miller, Jr. and Rennis Ray Miller. He is survived by: his sisters, Rose Jean Burns Petty of Pinch, Betty Kitts of Parris, Carole Miller Purser of Matthews and Patsy Ann Miller Zunigha of Phoenix, Arizona; and his friend Lady Di. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
