He was predeceased by: his parents, W. A. Smith and Cora M. Smith; his wife Kathleen Smith (Snyder); his brother Cloyd Smith; and his half-siblings, Ernest Smith and Freda Storts.
He is survived by: his son William H. Smith (Judy) of Leon. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins, and a host of friends and neighbors.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Smith Church Cemetery (10692 Waterloo-Smith Church Rd, Leon, WV 25123).
