She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Mitchem and Elsie Ford Mitchem; her brothers, Lonnie Mitchem and Bernard Mitchem; and her siblings-in-law, Rick Sarks, Arve Sarks, Harold Green, Wally Richards, Lloyd Barnett, Sue Barnett, Elsie Mitchem, Linda Richards and Katie Sarks.
She is survived by: her husband Billy Sarks; her children, Darren Sarks (Connie) and Katherine Strong (Gregg); her grandchildren, Jessica Stone (Jamie), Robert Riggs (Ashley), Justin Riggs (Caitlyn Mitchell) and Amber Strong-Vandyke (Jacob); her great grandchildren, Colton Stone, Trevin Stone, Julianna VanDyke, Wyatt Riggs and Scarlett Riggs; and her sister Louise Green.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home (3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
