He is survived by: his wife Marie; his children, Dr. Brandon Barnes of Wilmington, NC and Dr. Katie Barnes (Benjamin Sevald) of Chicago, IL; his sister Cindy Palmer (Jon Palmer); his sisters-in-law, Babbe Barnes and Jackie Burwell; and his mother-in-law Betty Burwell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
