With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dowell Gene Bailey of Lorado, West Virginia, who passed away on November 27, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Oat Bailey and Mary Bailey; his stepmother Anna Laws Bailey; his wife Janet Bailey; his daughter Terry L. Isom; his grandson David Paul Elkins; his daughter-in-law Flora Gail Bailey; and his siblings, Pauline Daniels, Nathan, Wandell, James and Danny Bailey.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Elkins (David) of Lorado, Harold Gene Bailey of Lorado and Charles Bailey of Claremont, NC.; his siblings, Alice Pierson and Bill "Poncho" Bailey; his grandchildren, David P. Elkins, Michael Elkins, Ginger White (Eddie), Stephen Isom (Kayla), Charlie Bailey and Ashley Bailey; his great grandchildren, Harlee, Kaci, Morgan, Dakota, Brooklyn, Zachariah, Whitney, Christopher, Skyler, Joe, Kaylee, Jessalyn and Davin; his stepgrandsons, Ethan, Aiden and Blake White; his close friends, Chris Gibson, Doug Gibson and Donald Gordon; and his granddaughter-in-law Cassandra Rogers.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Saunders Memorial Freewill Baptist Church (61 Inspiration Ln, Cyclone, WV 24827). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
