He was predeceased by: his parents, Steven "Gene" Kennedy and Lola "Elaine" Sands Kennedy; and his sister Judith Hartzell. He is survived by: his daughters, Dr. Stephenie, Julie Kennedy-Rea of Mt. Clare, Kelly Rittenhouse and TJ Thompson of Lost Creek; his grandchildren, Lara, Judd Johnson of Clarksburg, Josia "Mort" Kennedy Rea of Baltimore, MD, Jordan Kennedy Rea of Chicago, IL and Harrison Rittenhouse of Lost Creek; his great grandchild Arsinoe Johnson; his sister Jane Reinholt (Don) of South Bend, IN; his niece Jessica Knight of Cincinnati, OH; and his nephew Michael Hartzell of Clarksburg.
