She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Banks and Josephine Sowers Banks; her husband Willie Patton; and her siblings, Fred, Bill, Ronnie Banks, Yvonne Puyear and Janet Grant.
She is survived by: her daughter Rekko Patton; and her siblings, Mollie Sherman, Brenda Lambert, Tina Frieson and Ernest "Popcorn" Banks.
She was a Member of NAACP, NACCP Executive committee, and Julia Price Breast Cancer Foundation.
