He was predeceased by: his wife Christa Kaiser Lane; his parents, Bredell Lane and Reba Miller Lane; and his brother Garry L. Lane. He is survived by: his daughters, Sandra Zabel (Kurt) of Huntington and Nicole Lane of Columbus, Ohio; and his sister Vernell Blankenship of Mooresville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
