He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Warren Cline and Diane Jean Ellison (Mitchell); his daughter Kara Lynn Mitchell; and his sister Jeannie Ann Mitchell. He is survived by: his sons, Kenneth and Bradley Mitchell of Bruno; his grandchildren, Ashton Mitchell, Roman and Xavian Mitchell of Bruno; his siblings, Freddy (Jeannie Mitchell), Dallas (Trissa Hatfield), Adam Hatfield, Rodney, Ashley Mitchell (Mickey) and Stephanie (Howard Sammons); and his close friend Glenna Jean Mitchell Gibson.
