He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Adkins and Nellie Jo Adkins (Zirkle); his siblings, Thomas Adkins and Carolyn Adkins; his brother-in-law Kenneth Wiley; and his nephews-in-law, Earl David Gillispie and Mackie Johnson.

He is survived by: his caregiver Marilyn Ruth Wiley of Man; his nieces, Cindy "Punkin" Wiley (Norman) and Kenna "Sissy" Johnson (MacKenzie) of Man; his great-nephews, Earl "Bub" Carlee Gillispie and Corey (Breanna); his great-niece Kortney (Camron); and his caregivers, Pam Harvey and Kristy Sorrell.
