He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hanning and Helen McDonald Hanning; his wife Nancy Hanning; his son Lewis Scott Hanning; his brother Cyril Minnick; his siblings-in-law, Arnold Batson, Willard Villers Sr., Tom Simpson, Martha Batson and Mary Simpson; and his grandparent Alva (Ollie McDonald).
He is survived by: his daughter Melissa Brooks (Rick); and his siblings-in-law, Linda Wade, Robert Wade and Frida Villers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Masters Funeral Home (209 E Main St, Mannington, WV 26582). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
