He was predeceased by : his father James Allen Gibson; his sister Shelia Ray Sharp; and his nephew James Michael Cassell. He is survived by : his mother Sally Kay Ray Gibson of Stamping Creek; his son Dustin Gibson of Raleigh, NC; and his siblings, John Gibson (Niska) of Buckhannon, Chris (Melonie Gibson) of Marlinton and Violee "Sissy" Weatherholt (Kevin) of Marlinton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the Lantz Funeral Home to help offset the funeral cost.
