He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlington Leroy Beard and Imogene R. Beard (Vorhees); and his brothers, Marion "Butch" F. Beard and Terry L. Beard. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Beard; his children, Tracey Beard Clark and Brandon Arlington Beard; and his stepdaughters, Susann Stickle and Gina Teets. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
