He is survived by: his mother Deborah Morris Nichols (JR Layman); his girlfriend Traci Stone; his brother Ken Nichols Jr.; his children, Austin Nichols (Claire Nichols), Alexis Nichols (Spencer Sanon) and Ava Nichols (Dylan Gano); his grandchildren, Ivy Nichols, Carson Nichols, Jace Sanon and Graceyn Sanon; and his uncle John Morris.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to initiate a scholarship for music students at Hedgesville High School.
