He was predeceased by: his parents, David Burr Kisner and Mary Kisner of Virginia; his former wife Donalene "Kelley" Kisner; and his siblings, David Meredith Kisner, George (Kisner), Donald Kisner, William "Shug" Kisner, Rose Marie Lamp and Beatrice Kisner.

He is survived by: his sister Wanda Chapman; his children, Lisa Blevins (Brian), Joni Greenberg (David), Cary Kisner (Coleen) and Susan Paugh (Scott); his grandchildren, Alex Greenberg (Kasey), Jason Greenberg (Melissa), Anna Blevins (Jordan Hitrick), Samuel Blevins, Abigail Paugh, Molly Kisner, Charlie Paugh and Maggie Kisner; his great grandchild Jackson Greenberg; his stepchildren, Mike Lowry and Lindsey Smith; his close friend Nora Porterfield; his wife Janet Files; and his close friends, Jim, Izzie Seibert, Russia and Mexico. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
