She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer M. Spaulding and Gertrude Runkles Spaulding Sperau; her husband Paul E. Thompson; her stepfather Dee Sperau; her stepbrothers, Donald J. Sperau and Dewitt Sperau; and her siblings-in-law, William Jefferson, Peter Spiker and Evelyn Small Spiker.
She is survived by: her son Robert Drew Thompson (Claudia Thompson) of Portsmouth, VA; her nephew Michael Small of Baltimore, MD; and her great-nephews, Tim, Greg Small, David, Danny Sperau of Bethesda, MD, Parsons, Winchester and Roderick.
