He was predeceased by: his parents, James Grimes and Genevieve Brown Grimes; and his brothers, Jimmy, Patrick and Barry.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his son Doug, Jr. (Christina); his granddaughters, Katelyn Craun of Harpers Ferry and Kerri Grimes of Martinsburg; and his stepchildren, Sherri Bogley, Teresa Stewart and David Hilderbrand. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home (256 Halltown Rd, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
