We are sad to announce that, on December 20, 2025, at the age of 88, George James of Martinsburg, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact George had on those he encountered along his journey. Though George may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse James and Dorothy Butts James; his wife Phyllis Welch James; his siblings, Franklin and Phyllis; and his pet Buddy.
He is survived by: his significant other Carolyn Bankes; and his sons, Ricky James, Robert James (Mary) and Timothy James. He is also survived by three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
