She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Kenneth Furley and Mary Marie Hicks Furley; her husband Vincent Joseph Root, Sr.; her granddaughter Staci Root-Trenary; and her sisters, Joyce Priller and Judith White.
She is survived by: her children, Vincent Joseph Root, Jr. (Lori), Bonnie Root (Terrance Arnold) and Dawn Cobern (James); her grandchildren, Talli McDaniel, Alexis Clark, Royce Fatkin, Crystal Harden, Kamryn Root and Coltin Root-Green; her great grandchildren, Nieelah McDowell, Carleigha Winfrey, Ro'Neko Jackson and Nolan Root; her grandchildren, Thomas Harden, Rosalee Harden, Liam Fatkin and Ronnie Fatkin; and her siblings, William Furley and Brenda K. Jones (James).
