He is survived by: his wife Julie Stephens; his children, Joseph Adam Stephens Jr., Katelyn Stephens (John) and Kendall Stephens; his siblings, Lee, Gary and Alicia; his father Herbert Stephens; and his granddaughter Samantha. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
