She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Pirlie Simmons and Lena Mae White Simmons; her son David Salyers; and her siblings, Roy, Norma and Shirley Simmons.
She is survived by: her husband Frederick "Fred" Mitchell Jr.; and her sons, Mark Salyers, Joe Salyers and Frederick Mitchell III. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
